The LOJ Conversions GTR (VR38DETT) Engine to Nissan 350Z HR and 370Z Transmission Adapter is the first of its kind produced for the Nissan enthusiast. This adapter allows the robust Nissan 350Z HR and 370Z 6-Speed manual transmissions to be bolted up directly to the Nissan VR38DETT engine that was found in the R35 Nissan GTR. Precise digital measurement with Creaform 3D Scanning Technology ensures proper fitment and alignment with all available mounting holes. This adapter includes a billet aluminum adapter plate, a billet aluminum flywheel, pilot bushing, and all necessary hardware.

Features:

  • Uses GTR VR38DETT starter, which allows the stock twin turbos to be retained.
  • Uses all available mounting holes for maximum assembly rigidity for high horsepower applications.
  • Flywheel incorporates a crank position sensor pickup ring compatible with the stock crank position sensor and oriented the same as a stock GTR flexplate.
  • Adapter plate includes clearance provisions for the stock GTR crank position sensor.
  • Standard flywheel will accept any single disk 370Z clutch. Can also be upgraded to an 8.5" (FX850) or 10" (FX1000) twin disk clutch and flywheel (optional)
  • Clutches are compatible with the stock 350Z HR or 370Z clutch release hardware. We can also provide an upgraded hydraulic release bearing upon request.

Frequently Asked Questions:

  • Will this kit require any modifications to my transmission?
    • Yes, a small area on the inside of the bellhousing will need to be ground down to clear the snout of the GTR starter.
  • Will this require any modifications to my engine?
    • Yes. There are three holes in the oil pan that connect the stock GTR engine to the stock GTR bellhousing. These holes are slightly mis-aligned with the 370Z transmission. We include a precisely sized dill bit, and while using the adapter as a drill guild, these holes Can be re-drilled in the proper position. This modification does NOT prevent the engine from being used with a stock GTR bellhousing again in the future. This is less than a 2mm mis-alignment.
  • How thick is this adapter?
    • This adapter is 0.875" (22.2mm) thick.
  • Will a 370Z Clutch hold up to the power output of these engines?
    • An upgraded single disk 370Z clutch can easily hold up to the output of a stock GTR engine. However, these engines make BIG power with relative ease, and we recommend upgrading to a twin disk if you plan on making 850+ WHP.
  • Which twin disk should I get?
    • The FX850 and FX1000 can both be built to hold the same power. However, the FX850, due to its smaller diameter, has a lower moment of inertia, meaning quicker revs and less parasitic loss. However it requires a stiffer pressure plate and does not have any anti-rattle features built in, so it will be a bit noisier. The FX1000 is a bit heavier, but will have better street manners and has anti-rattle features built in which will run quieter.

Testimonials

I was reminded this morning, two years after I bought my Z32 swap kit what a great company this is. LOJ is always there with excellent advice, not just great products. Best customer service of any company I’ve ever dealt with, and the highest quality swap parts available. If you want an easy, bolt in swap, this is it. Click Here to See Review
